✅ Light

• Needs full sunlight for 5–6 hours daily.

• If sunlight is low → fewer flowers and weak growth.

✅ Watering

• Water when the top soil feels dry.

• In hot weather, roses may need daily watering.

• Avoid water standing in the pot → causes root rot.

✅ Soil

• Roses love rich, well-draining soil.

• Best mix:

  • Garden soil

  • Compost

  • Cocopeat

  • A little sand/perlite

✅ Fertilizer (Very Important!)

• Roses are heavy feeders.

• Feed every 15 days in growing season (spring–summer).

Best fertilizers:

• NPK 12-24-12 or 10-10-10

• Organic: compost, cow dung, banana peel water, bone meal (slow release)

🌹 To Increase Flowering

• Full sun

• High-phosphorus fertilizer (middle number)

• Regular pruning of dead flowers (deadheading)

✂️ Pruning

• Prune hard in late winter (January–February).

• Remove:

  • Dead branches

  • Weak shoots

  • Crossing branches

Pruning encourages strong new shoots that produce more flowers.

❌ Common Problems

• Black spots on leaves: Fungus → use neem spray or fungicide

• Aphids / whiteflies: Spray neem oil or soapy water

• Yellow leaves: Overwatering or nutrient deficiency
